Frequently Asked Questions

If it’s glass, why doesn’t it break?

InvisiMat is made of 1/4” thick tempered glass, crafted to our unique patented specifications. Tempered glass is five times stronger than regular glass and can withstand thousands of pounds of pressure.

InvisiMat chair mats are warranted not to break with normal use. The most frequent cause of breakage is hitting or knocking the side of the mat against metal or another hard surface.

For the best experience with InvisiMat, we advise against placing furniture on the edge of the mat. However, you can confidently use furniture with non-metallic legs or slides on our mats, ensuring a smooth and safe experience.

Is it hard to roll on and off?

Unlike any other glass chair mat in the marketplace, InvisiMat features an exclusive one-inch beveled edge that makes it easy to roll smoothly on and off the mat.

Does it work on hardwood floors?

Yes, InvisiMat glass chair mats are an excellent choice for protecting wood floors from dents and scratches while allowing the floor's beauty to show through. They also work on carpets and most other surfaces.

Does it have a warranty?

Yes, InvisiMat glass chair mats offer a Limited Lifetime Warranty. See more about it here.

Will it work with my chair?

InvisiMat chair mats are designed to work with any rolling desk chair except those with metal casters.

Is there a weight limit?

An InvisiMat chair mat can support thousands of pounds—the equivalent of many people. Regardless of the user's weight, it will not crack or break with normal use.

Will it stay in place?

Yes. All three models of InvisiMat glass chair mats are heavy (between 40 and 45 pounds) and move very little, if at all, during normal use.

Will it scratch?

InvisiMat chair mats are very scratch-resistant. While rare, they can be scratched if sand or grit is tracked onto the mat and left under the chair rollers.
